22. Using Local Lenders and the Unsexy Side of Real Estate Investing with Tim Carmon

In this episode we interview Tim Carmon. Tim and I served together in the Navy at the same command a few years ago. Tim has always been a go getter and it certainly showed in his Navy career. Tim and I were catching up on LinkedIn and started talking real estate and I asked him to come on and share his story with what he’s been doing. He explained how he was able to build a great relationship with his lender at a local bank to work out different finance options. Tim and his brother are putting in some great efforts to beautify and restore the local community that they invest in. It’s really neat to see a real estate investor putting in that extra effort to help and show how much they care.

Tim retired from the Navy after serving for 28 years. His goal was to have a few houses as rental properties before retiring. He wanted to build up his monthly income to accompany his retirement check. Both him and his brother do a lot of their own work to fix up the properties they buy.
